Disappointing Season. Now to be honest, I don’t quite recollect the plot of the first season, but I vaguely remember it being interesting. Jaideep Ahlawat is still very good, as are many other cast members. But in this season, there is no sense of dread that the word ‘Paatal’ should invoke. Paatal = Netherworld. A dark place infested by we-dont-know-who, and that is what makes for the intrigue. The antagonists in PL2 are not evil. They merely have a different view of what their future should look like. They live in a beautiful land, are a proud people and do not look threatening at all. PL2 is not a political thriller either. It discusses no politics, save for the fact that the people of Nagaland are not very happy with the Indian establishment. Far too much seems to have been put on the shoulder of Jaideep Ahlawat and his Haryanvi Jaat personality and lingo.
BULLSHIT SHALL PREVAIL
